Hi all,

I am researching a new center channel, and that $500 mark is the threshold. As I was researching the Klipsch RC-62, I noticed that they came out with a successor, the WC-24. Does anyone own one of these yet, and if so, what are your thoughts on it?

At the same time, I am not dead-set on the new center channel being a Klipsch, so if anyone else had a suggestion on a $500-or-less center that they highly recommend, I am all ears.

Thanks a lot!
Brian

I don't own it but I will say it sounds awesome IMO. I heard the WF-34 Home Theater System hooked up to a mid-range Denon receiver and thought the sound was awesome. Just my two cents. What other speakers do you own?

to the top...

it's been about a month, so wanted to see if anyone else owns one of these yet, and your impression(s) of it.

Thanks!
Brian

I just ordered three of them last night... I will be using 1 for center channel and two for the rear. I expect them next week, I'll let you know what I think once they are hooked up at home.

In the store, they sound great.

a friend of mine just ordered the whole series, and honestly I dont like it. They sounded way too harsh and something just seemed way off. I was planning of getting them, but I will be going reference all the way around. I have heard a lot of people saying the reference sound quite a bit better. to each his own I guess but I would advise against it.

Thanks for the feedback - have not had a chance to hear them yet. My current setup needs some help on movie dialogue. I am hoping to find a good solution with the tight space I have to work with.

Jaxbert - look forward to finding out how they work for you.

IIRC, that series doesn't succeed the Reference line. They succeed the entry level Synergy line. Ideally, your center should be the same make, model, and line as your mains. It is important for your stage imaging to match the drivers off all three front speakers.

Incorrect....

They did not succeed the synergy line...The new Klipsch Icon VF line replaced them...

The Icon W's (which we are talking about) are a newer lineup not really replacing anything. They are a lifestyle speaker in a way, meant to look good. They also have done revisions with the horn tweeter, its supposed to be less forward.

i've been listening to these at bb lately after purchasing/demo-ing the icon xf-48's.

the wf 35's sound very good to me. the highs especially with horns and strings for music/soundtracks.

i'm seriously considering returning my icons (xf) for the wf series as they seem to produce a bit better midrange while giving the same great horn/tweeter sound from klipsch. all for hundreds less.

if you have klipsch wf mains i would certainly get the center to match. if your mains are another brand i would watch out. klipsch speakers have their own unique sound and would likely be a distraction if paired to different speakers.

good luck!
