List the movies you where going to buy but changed your mind because the disc ended up getting a poor review for picture quality or you heard through a thread that the disc was poor.

It will be interesting to see how many sales are going to be lost:eek:

This month i was going to buy

DARK CITY:(
TOP GUN:(
PATTON:mad:

I dont have unlimited funds so i want to spend my hard earned cash on discs that are going to get good reviews.

Yeah, mummies look great to me. Audio is teriffic.

I'm keeping my pre-order in for dark city. I am seeing way too many polarized reviews on it so far.

I don't know why people were expecting different releases than what was out on HD DVD. They are coming from the same master and the visual difference between HD and Blu bitrates are less than most expect.

I have an HD DVD of Top Gun and think it looks quite good. If the BR is similar, I think it would be fine.

In most cases I have to rent the title first if there are any quality issue concerns. There are WAY too many opinions on transfers these days. You have some people claiming Patton was terrible and others saying it looked great for an old movie. It depends on your level of comfort with DNR and the clean-up procedures used for a certain title.

Too much DNR can be bad...but no DNR can make a BD look as bad or worse than a DVD which is NOT why I got into High-Def. Im somewhere in the middle between wanting SOME grain left in and wanting DNR applied to liven things up.

So, people shouldn't have opinions?

this does not cover any new ground that isn't covered within the individual threads.
