I do...but then I sell or trade the DVDs.
I've double-dipped on a few, but I have to really love the film. The only BD i bought that I already had on HD DVD was Batman Begins, partly for the movie ticket, partly for the preview for The Dark Knight, and partly to have one less reason to hook up my slow-as-molasses HD-A2.

Yes... This weekend I've decided to buy the Pirates trilogy on BD, eventhough I already have it on DVD... In general, if it's available on HD (and I mean on Blu-ray, I don't buy HDDVDs anymore), then I know I'll buy it, even if I have the SD version. Besides, bad PQ on HDM is already x times better than the SD version... ;) I've already sold quite a few DVDs, knowing I would buy the Blu-ray versions.
I have not yet double-dipped because, as an anime/animation fan, most of the DVDs I own have not yet been re-released on Blu-Ray! But I can count about a dozen DVDs that I would double-dip on if they got off their asses and re-released them!

I usually do. The only exceptions are TV shows, like Battlestar Galactica or Firefly.... those are good enough upconverted, IMO.

This is a topic that has come up since BR software was hitting the shelves...do you replace your SD collection. Here is just one of many threads on the topic
