Looking at a refurb BH100 for $249 or a new BH200 for $500. Which one is worth it?

Current setup is

HK 146
5.1 surround.

The 200 is worth every additional penny.

The BH 100 is worth every 25,100 pennies less than the 500,000 pennies of the BH 200. :D

Oh and by the way I have both!! But honestly if your HK doesn not do the new audio codecs and has analog inputs, get the BH 100 , sure it doesnt have the HD interactive but movies is what its all about and I love mine.

Some people have had luck finding the Samsung BD-UP5000 at CC for $250-350 if that interests you. I got a Samsung refurb for $400.

$500 is too much IMO. I think the Samsung is the better player anyway. It has the Reon and 7.1 analog outs.

why buy the BH100 when the BH200 has so much more to offer? I do not need the analog out but the rest, the BH200 plays HD DVDs as it should (if it plays them, I have some European ones that do not work and LG does not seem to care). Why buy the BH100 then?

The early LGbh100's are BD region free right out of the box. plus the ability to make it SD dvd region free is another great feature and less hassle than switching Eprom codes as in the BH200 but i have both and both are great. i dont care about HD-DVD extra featurs as i dont even use the BD extra features to me ts a waste of BW that could be used towards the movie content
so they do not have to compress it so much, But BD makers dont care.
