New to forum but have been reading all the posts on the Pioneer 610/710HD Power-Off Problem which my 710HD set has starting experiencing. No blown fuses or any picture problems when it is working so I suspect I should be looking at the PS Board problems so often talked about.

I have taken out the PS board and visually inspected the board -- nothing obvious but I am not sure I know a bad solder joint when I see one.. :-)

I did notice it is the older PS board revision -- were these known for bad solder joints???. In any case I rechecked all fuses and put it back in and still having problem.

Couple questions if anyone can help. It APPEARS that the set will run fine forever as long as I am driving it with a 1080i Signal from COMCAST Cable HD channels OR an upconverting Oppo DVD in 1080i Mode only. If I play any other resolution or SD channels it seems like the TV will shutdown in short-time. Does this make any sense????

Also if I take the chance and go to Pioneer and replace the PS Board should I purchase the Newer Revision Board? Or doe sthis set require you to use the oder revision???

Thanks, Tim
