For those unfamiliar of the product I'm looking for this:
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41C130TFFJL._SL500_AA280_.jpg
at a Monoprice price. Does such a thing exist? I couldn't find them on Monoprice, but I might just be looking in the wrong area.
I'm not paying 18$ for two pairs of those things.

Radio Shack sells this last item. They are not insulated. I used these on my mother's stereo and wrapped them in a layer of electrical tape up to the color band.
I prefer all these I linked over the item in your original post. I have had those both fray and/or break off.

Ah, many thanks. The Monster ones you posted may be the best bet.
PartsExpress says they're for 12 AWG. Would that be 12AWG only, or up to and including?

what's the advantage of using these over just a stripped wire? more permanent connection? are these only available in a solder-on type?

what's the advantage of using these over just a stripped wire? more permanent connection? are these only available in a solder-on type?No fraying of the wire-ends. Easier to insert into the binding posts or clips. Sometimes the clip-type connectors have really small holes that 12g wire won't even fit into so, with these, you can still easily use 12g wire. My ONKYO stereo receiver and old Advents in my bedroom have the really small-holed clip connectors and these work well with them.
The ones in the OP's post as well as several of the ones I linked are solderless.

thanks for the info. guess i'll upgrade to these then :) it's a pita to wire up the speakers into the tiny holes on the onkyo, these should make it much easier.

Turns out we've got the Monster one's you listed at my work, sivadselim. Cheaper too (before discount)! :D I'll be picking up 2 sets tomorrow.
