Hi,

So I researched I lot. And there are so many options!
I am basically looking for something simple, that I can access over the wifi, and that will play my divx/xvid, pics, and music on my TV, w/o my pc being on.
I look for different solutions:
1/ An HTPC is a neat solution but expensive.

2/ I am also considering having a WHS connected to a media extender (HP MSS and the dlink dsm 520 ?) ; or even a NAS drive and a media extender (dlink dns323 and the dns 520 ?)

3/ But lately, I thought that maybe, a box like the
- mvix 780HD
- istar HD
- popcorn hour ... (the neuros ?)
maybe a better idea (with the last two, i will have to buy a bridge or i will modify a linksys router to act as a wifi client)

The box/drive with the last solution is "better" as it will be directly connected to the TV; I also could accessing the drive over the network, which will let me put pictures, music, and organize those shares.

What do you think will be the best solution, with less headache.

1/ Independent: Which one do you recommend ? (from the 3rd solution)
- I am looking for not a lot of noise and a easy UI
- an hdmi output
- that accept another hdd plugged in, ipods
- that can have an internet TV or radio (if possible)...

2/ all connected: Or if a NAS with a media receiver (or mvix type box) is better so that all the house have the same shares.
In this case, which nas would you recommend ? (i am looking at the dns 323 for now). and which box (media receiver or mvix type) to read this nas

2/bis! Or a Tvix type box with a hdd connected to a tv, that is accessible to other media extenders in other tvs/rooms (such as teh dlink dsm 520), which bypass the need for a nas (and/or act like one?)

Price range: between 150 and 250, depending on what it has to offer.

Thanks

Sebastien
