I've followed the directions, but get a file that is 37.1 MB (38,952,338 bytes) after unzipping. The player recognizes it as a data disk and will do nothing to install. Suggestions?

Data disk?
Did you try and put the file on a USB drive instead of a cd?

I would have but I don't have one. I burned the disk as an ISO, was this the right way to do it?

No. You're suppose to put the file directly to USB or CD without unzip it, IIRC.

In the firmware thread it says:

Instructions:

1. Unzip the file LG_BH_LV221BH_0620A.zip - The file you need to transfer to a CD/DVD/USB Stick is called LG_BH_LV221BH.ROM.
2. Follow the instructions provided in Update Guide for BH200.pdf

I unzipped the file, and just copied the XXXXXXX221BH.rom file to the usb drive myself.
I did not change the format- just copied that 1 file.
Maybe try to just burn it as it stands instead of as an ISO ?

It's definitely not an ISO image file. You just need to put the file on the disc.

You guys are right! I just tried and it worked. Thanks.

What firmware did you download? The June firmware is:38,970,096 bytes.

You need to unzip it. It's a ROM data file, no ISO file. If you've copied anything other than the ROM file to the "root" of the drive, you've done it wrong :).

Are you able to copy it to a USB Stick? If not follow these instructions:

It's instructions for the SD DVD Multiregion hack but parts of it also apply to the firmware too.
