I'm sorry if this is posted in the wrong forum. I didn't know where else to place this question?
I want to jump in to a front projector for around $1800. But I do not know if the only place I have room for one will work. Here are a couple of pics to show you what I mean.

That back wall height is 80". The bumpout is 32" deep. Then the total ceiling height is 91". The room is 11' X 15'. No other wall is available.
I need to know if I ceiling mount the projector if I will clear that bumpout or not. Otherwise, I will have to go with a LCD flat panel instead.
Thanks all for helping. (if you can)

what are the other room dimensions, and what is wrong with the wall to the immediate right in the picture?

The room is 11' X 15'. All other walls have doors in them.

If you are going to put the screen where those pictures are now and the projector on the other side of the room, you should be fine.

You should be able to do it. Plenty of projectors have lens shift, which allows the projector beam to be aimed higher or lower. The projector should be mounted down a bit from the ceiling, anyway, to give clearance for ventilation. A 110" diagonal 16X9 screen has 54 inches high of viewing area, 60 inches if adding in 3 inches on top and bottom for a fixed frame, so you should have no problem fitting in a decent sized screen.

Any pj with lens shift will definitely work. For pjs without lens shift:
1. get a mount to lower the pj lens to clear bump, or
2. based on my calculation you'd need a pj with an offset of minus 13% (top of picture lower than center of pj lens) with the following parameters -
a. pj mounted 180" from screen (closer = more offset required)
b. center of pj lens is 6" from the ceiling (higher = more offset required)
c. 100" diagonal screen (smaller = more offset required)

A negative offset is achieved by ceiling mounting the PJ
Offset does not change when you move the PJ farther or closer, only making the image size larger increases the offset.
OP: You should be able to use almost any PJ you want in this setup.
You need to figure out how much you want to spend and whether you want LCD or DLP.
