Make sure all the connections are good as well as the lamp. All fans working too? Before the TV died did the picture get gradually worse? analyte 08-01-08, 02:37 PM Not to take over this thread, but my Sony LCD projection just did the same thing last night. What is this Q box? Cost? User replaceable or pro only? My fans are working as I can hear them. AlanHemberger 08-01-08, 04:06 PM I had the same problem in my Sony, ended up being the Q box. I wanted to see if I could get a diagnosis before that (trying to determine if it's something i can do on my own). All the fans sounds like they're working and the picture quality was seemingly fine beforei it died. R1Jester 08-11-08, 01:55 PM To re-type due to the crash of the site....do you know how to access the service screen on your TV? That will give you direct indication of what is malfunctioning and what is working correctly. tdma 08-12-08, 10:12 AM try this teverson 08-26-08, 03:40 PM Had the same problem. I got name/number of repair shop from Sony web site and called them. They came out and said that ten blinks means a high voltage card is bad and this is an "in shop" repair. Anyway, a week later, they brought it back as good as new. The prices were $100 paid up front as a pick up and deliver charge. Then is was $80 in parts, $220 labor, and $8 tax. I hope it goes another 5 years without any troubles. Input from wifey: Well, you ususally left if on all night. The TV really had 15 years of service rather than 5. I turned it off before I left for work this morning. AlanHemberger 02-22-09, 08:45 PM Sorry for the bump, but it turns out it was the component board. I was able to order one and I was told that i could do it myself. Does anyone happen to know how I could go about this? Detailed instructions or just personal experience would be very much appreciated. :D budman56 08-01-09, 03:02 PM thank you for your attachement. it seem that your attachment had all the info i needed. now all i need it to locate the service manual & where i can purchase a new card, rather than trying to repair the old one. |
