Watched it all season, this is the first HD I've seen. Maybe because it's a performance-only show (no remotes as in past weeks, except for the backgrounders on the comics, which are still in SD). Next week will probably be HD as well, for the same reason.

too bad next week is already the season finale...seemed like this season wasnt as long as last year.

i was kinda hoping they would do something like this last year, but im glad they did this year. even if it is just the finals, its great that it is finally in HD

Very quick season as they removed two comics each night. I remember some of the past seasons, only one was removed. But, my wife said they probably had to finish it up before the Olympics start next week on NBC. Made sense to me...probably the reason.

I have a feeling the chick is going to win. She's the typical frat boy laughter in my opinion. If that's what you are in to, that's cool, but I'm not. The young tall guy (forgot his name) is great. So is the dude that does all the voices and the Upright bass player.

well ive been a fan of Louis (the black guy) for years now, but if the girl wins, i wont be too upset.

and i would generally agree about the olympics thing, except that i know ABC shows are also wrapping up their summer shows next week.

It was HD? What a waste of HD broadcast equipment.

A crummy summer show like this or Americas Got Talent deserve 16:9 digital, and that's being generous.

It is ridiculous that a really good show like Hells Kitchen or Kitchen Nightmares only gets 16:9 digital and crap like Nashville Star has full HD.

Well, if Last Comic Standing was in HD, then all TV shows not in HD should officially be ashamed. Because, obviously Last Comic was meant to be one of the last shows to go HD. So, ya know...

Actually, this is the first week I missed it (Steelers training camp + long drive + dinner = not watching TV).

It was from Vegas so perhaps that is why the HD. Were my wife and I the only ones who thought the music mix was so loud that you could not hear anything in between the comics?

A waste of space? Not by a longshot. I've seen stand up comedy specials on HBO and the fact that they were in HD is precisely why those specials came alive.
I do, however, agree that shows like Hell's Kitchen and America's GOt Talent deserve to be in HD.

Lamers at NBC....I watch all season, then they pre-empt the finale for an exhibition football game.

that was only in your market, local stations are responsible for preemptions. it was WNBC's choice to air the New York Giants game instead of Last Comic Standing, and then air LCS at 1 in the morning.

or whatever NBC station that serves you. But I know the WNBC thing for a fact.

thats the thing about Preseason football, sometimes network shows get bumped, its no different than how the NBA or MLB works with most games for a team only shown in the local market(s). Of course its usually independant stations or MyNetwork TV affiliates that are official flagship TV stations of NBA and MLB teams, whereas local NFL flagship stations tend to be affiliates of major networks because they only air preseason games that are played in August when most of the TV schedule is reruns anyway. its towards the end of the season when the NFL Network comes into play that this can be a problem with non football fans. however, in this new age of digital subchannels, and stations affiliated with major networks having sister stations with smaller or no affiliation, its less of a problem when the game can be shown on the main station and network programming moved to a lower subchannel, or vice versa so that everyone is happy. then there is the situation my local CBS staton uses when a PGA tournament falls on the same day as a locally produced childrens hospital telethon. tune to the HD channel to find the Golf or the SD channel for telethon. its a strategy that i personally think is an interesting soloution. the more desirable program shown in HD while the other in SD, but both running on the same channel at the same time. of course with analog channels death looming, that would only work with stations have an SD simulcast on a subchannel.

i only got 2 hours of sleep...

Hells Kitchen or Kitchen Nightmares = FOX

Nashville Star has full HD = NBC

Bad shows in HD are like any food covered in chocolate. Even if you don't like it so much to begin with, it's still tastier after the good stuff gets added on.
