I heard the HT5000 is now the HT5000E. Same machine with some software changes. Looks like they can officially announce it contains the DC4 chip.

Actually Art, I believe that is correct. I was only referring to the designation given to the chip we 5000 owners currently have. CM corrected me, and as usual he is correct. I also spoke directly with the DLP folks at TI and they confirmed that the DC3+ and the DC4 are the same chip. (This had NOTHING to do with questioning the info I got from CM, as I trust his comments and value his opinion.) There must be "legal reasons" why it was not advertised that way with the current 5000's, but I'm not sure.

Yes ,it should be fun. I hope you will guide me on the wine. Although it is a wonderful rut, I'm in one with wines. Tough to find a flavor as appealing as the Oregon Pinot Noir you introduced me to.

here in silicon valley we have about 60 wineries in the local hills. many of them excellent small producers. Pinot seems to be a fave. we had a passport day a few weekends ago... lots of yummy to be had. but we have to be strong and keep pressing on to drink as many of them as we can.
