I 've had a Mitsubishi WD-62725 for 4 years now and it's showing it's age on blueray movies and PS3 games. Also it's reflective screen is annoying as it's the main TV in our family room with lots of windows. I'm thinking about upgrading to a 65835 (at less than half the price I paid for the 725) and was wondering if anyone has made the switch. I'm thinking the 1080p and less reflective screen would be worth it. Plus i'm limited to 1 HDMI on the 725.

Any other options. Maybe the new laser models coming? Depth is not a concern but it has to fit in a 60" wide entertainment stand.

have you ever cleaned the internal mirror or had the lamp replaced?? the 52/62x25 series were notorious for getting dust on the lower internal mirror and causing dust blotches and reduced pq.

Now they are having big problems with capacitor issues and going DOA. So it would be a good time to sell it if its still working and get a new set.

IF your internal mirror has not been cleaned it could be worse then this one.........I helped a friend clean his wd62725, 2 years old at the time.

I replaced the lamp after I had 5500 hours on it. It was still working well but I got nervous since every time I turned the TV on it was basically telling me lamp failure was immenant. The lamp did show significant hazing but I never had a brightness problem.

I just developed some smudges in the past 3 months and will try the mirror clean tomorrow. Besides the smudges and the "green glow" in the center of the screen the set has not given me any problems. I've clean the dust filter at least every 10 months.

I've moved the set into two homes and it was also in storage for 4 months while we built our new home so I'm guessing it will be pretty dirty.
