Hi. Would someone please explain something to me about upconversions? What am I missing here? OK, here goes.

Say I have three things: A Blu-ray player with Silicon Optics Realta chip; A receiver with a Faroudja chip; and an HDTV with its own chip.

Further assume the Realta is the best chip, just for kicks.

Ok. Now I have three pieces, each of which has its own chip.
Let's play a blu-ray disc.....using Realta, it goes to the receiver using Faroudja, then goes to TV using its own chip. If this is the way it should be set up.

I hope you can understand the question, 'cause I couldn't figure out a good way to ask it, unless it's which chip ends up doing the job, and what's the best way to figure out how to best set the stuff up, and what's the point of having a chip in each piece!!!!!!!!!!. Yikes!
