I have a Sony STR-DA2000es, and I am having some issues with it. I have my DVD player, CD player, and Cox Digital cable connected to it, via High Definition cables, and Optical audio cables.

My issue is that, when I am watching Television, on HD Channels (they have Dolby 5.1), I get 3/2.1 on 1 channel, and 2-channel on most others on the display of my receiver. The problem is, the audio is very messed up. The background audio is fine, such as music and sound effects, but when a person talks, it is very quiet, and flat. A lot quieter than the surrounding sound effects....

When playing a CD, I get 2-channel aswell. The music comes from all 6 speakers, but the artist's voice is very queit.

The only time I get TRUE Dolby 5.1 is when I connect my XBOX. Speakers work to full potential.

I set it to Auto-Mode when selecting output, then i put it to Pro-Logic II, and i get Dolby 3/2.1, but my sound is the same as what i was describing above. When i put itt on 2-channel output, sound is perfect, but only on my front speakers, and my SW.

Please help me!. It is really frustrating watching movies and not being able to hear the characters speak, LOL.
