From TheHDRoom.com
Walmart.com has added a new Blu-ray listing for Shrek the Halls, what would be the second appearance for the green ogre on Blu-ray. The Dreamworks Home Entertainment title per the listing is slated for October 31.
Shrek The Halls is a TV special that aired in late 2007 featuring the voices of Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz and Antonio Banderas. It only runs a half hour so we'd expect some supplemental material to fill out space on the disc.
We've tentatively added Shrek The Halls to the Blu-ray Future Releases section pending an official announcement from the studio.
IMHO, this is a total rip-off...
..unless there are some decent extras.
Actually, on second thought I don't think even with extras it is worth a $20 street price.

I recorded this on a Series 3 last year, and I believe I backed it up on my computer. It is short enough (30 minutes) to burn onto one DVD-R in high definition, which can be played back on a Blu-Ray player. I have FiOS, so the quality of the video I captured is pretty good.

This should be an extra on the Shrek 3 disc not a standalone release.

This should be an extra on the Shrek 3 disc not a standalone release.

...or even better, an extra on the original Shrek which should also be announced along with Shrek 2!
Total rip-off...a single release for a half-hour TV special. I have this recorded in HD on my DVR, and there it will remain.
Lots of rip-offs announced today!

Some of us already have this on Blu-Ray (via BD-RE), AVCHD, 3x DVD, or (really rare) recorded HD DVD.
I have to agree that as a standalone this wouldn't be worth much. I have it on my DVR too from when it originally aired.
Still can't believe they haven't announced or released Shrek 1-2 on Blu ray yet... and this seems like it would be a nice "extra" to include if you bought a 2-pack of both original movies on Blu.

While Shrek 3 wasn't near a good as the original, it was, in it's own right, not as bad as people like to make it out to be. My kids and I all liked it. In fact I liked it better than 2, which I do not really care for. So, to each his own! Opinion, that is!!

I thought the special was pretty cute when it aired last year. However, it is definitely not worth the price that's listed!
It's barely longer than twenty minutes when you remove the commercials. Besides, they'll probably air it again anyway....
