How long are you waiting before turning it back on?
Projections really are made to have some time to cool the lamp off, ect...

Maybe a Minute...
You should be using 20 minutes as the minimum time for cycling a DLP tv. Turn it on, leave it on for at least 20 minutes, then if you need to turn it off, after turning it off you should be waiting 20 minutes for the system, bulb, etc. to cool down before turning it on again.
Rapid and frequent cycles will blow the bulb and ruin the whole light engine over time. If you are going to be away from the tv for a short time, it's better to leave it running than turn it off and on. I use 2 hours as a rule, less than two hours away, it can stay on, more than two hours away, it's off.
My DLP is almost 3 years old and doing well. So the rules do work.

If you just installed it then is it the new HL61A750? This model has the LED lights. I am not sure if that means you still need to wait 20 minutes or not?
