Did anyone notice a few glitches during the broadcast? I noticed a couple times it froze for a split second. Nothing too bad, but it was a little distracting.

BLank screens for 20 seconds at a time - not good. Rodgers looked good - hope he does well. Would like to see Thompson run out of town though... bwentzel 08-12-08, 11:19 AM HD is not kind to Kornheiser. What's with the scruffy hair and comb over? Just shave it off and deal with it. Plus he's a Bengal hater. Never says anything nice about them. Guess he's lost a lot of money betting on them..... And for fans of the Bengals, it was way toooooo much Favre this Favre that. If there were any drinking games where you had to do a shot everytime the announcers said Favre, there would be massive alcohol poisoning deaths all across the country. steverobertson 08-12-08, 11:25 AM I turned it off because it was sickening to have to listen to the Favre BS. I swear ESPN is having his baby what a bunch of dopes that allow this to go on. DJ Matt 08-12-08, 05:40 PM HD is not kind to Kornheiser. What's with the scruffy hair and comb over? I was thinking the same thing. HD isn't kind to Korn at all. He looks terrible in high-def, about as bad as McCain. lol! I agree with too much Favre. I am a Packers fan, but I am getting so sick of hearing about Favre. Lets just move on and talk about the Packers and Rodgers. Yeah, a lot of people are mad about that including me and I am a Packers fan. The announcers were in love with Favre the whole game. I also thought the announcers were talking about the Packers more than the Bengals. It should never be like that. It should be equal. We all should write to ESPN and tell them to stop talking about Favre so much and talk about the game and whats going on in the game. Digger16309 08-12-08, 08:42 PM Ha! I was thinking the same thing. Your best bet on that, is the ESPN Ombudsman (actually, Ombudswoman), as she has no problem taking the MNF telecast crew to task over their idiocy. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/story?columnist=schreiber_leanne&id=3240223 http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/story?id=2826900 McDonoughDawg 08-12-08, 08:44 PM The show is almost unwatchable to me since they added that Tony guy. Honestly, to me, he brings ZERO to the table. DJ Matt 08-12-08, 10:24 PM Thanks Digger. I just sent them an e-mail. The show is almost unwatchable to me since they added that Tony guy. Honestly, to me, he brings ZERO to the table. I like Mike and Jaws, but Tony has to go. He just gets annoying after a while. His comments and making fun of players are too repetitive. Its getting old now. It would be much much better with having just Jaws and Tirico in the booth. slowbiscuit 08-13-08, 11:26 AM We all know that MNF is way more than football to ESPN, it's about the E as much as it is the S. And that's why Tony (or some other 'E' guy) is always going to be in there, just like they're always going to have some damn celeb showing up there every game, talking about something else while the game becomes background noise. Or they'll obsess over something else that has nothing to do with the game, like Favre (or Vick last year). MNF is kind of a joke now. SNF sets the bar higher. steverobertson 08-13-08, 11:40 AM We all know that MNF is way more than football to ESPN, it's about the E as much as it is the S. I guess ESPN thinks the game itself can't keep us entertained so they have all this other crap going on. This one of the reasons I like CFB better as it is about football and not all this other crap. archiguy 08-13-08, 12:59 PM I like Mike and Jaws, but Tony has to go. The funny thing is, Tony would agree with you. I heard him on PTI say that Michael Strahorn should be in his seat. He's said a lot of people should be in his seat. How odd that ESPN never seems to hear him. He's totally wrong for this, and like Rush Limbaugh and Dennis Miller and the other non-football celebrities they've tried to cram in the booth like square pegs in a round hole, sometimes you have to realize your hunch didn't pay off and it's time to drop back and punt. Great job, Le Anne. I think it’s pretty sad when you feel the product you put on the air can’t stand on its own merits. Especially when it’s been an institution for the last 38 years. Erik Tracy 08-13-08, 03:45 PM Did anyone notice a few glitches during the broadcast? I noticed a couple times it froze for a split second. Nothing too bad, but it was a little distracting. I noticed those too. But overall the PQ was gorgeous! The field shots were just a tad soft, imo. But the closeups were nice. Colors popped. Can't wait for the season to start!! Erik scott72 08-13-08, 05:39 PM MNF is kind of a joke now. SNF sets the bar higher. Yep. I'll take Madden and Michaels over any of those chumps. I do like Jaws though. JD-8490 08-13-08, 06:21 PM Yep. I'll take Madden and Michaels over any of those chumps. I do like Jaws though. Hearing Madden constantly mumble, mutter primal grunts and talk about his love obsession with Brett Favre is just as bad as hearing the three stooges on ESPN. JunkyardDogg 08-13-08, 07:27 PM It's spelled "C-I-N-C-I-N-N-A-T-I", could we get the title corrected! As far as ESPN, pretty standard broadcast for them, more drama than sport, makes it like watching a soap. Its definately not what it used to be. |
