I just installed a Western Digital DVR Expander on my Brighthouse( Melbourne Fl )8300 HD DVR. Brighthouse just installed new software called Mystro on it's DVRs. The Mystro software accepted the new external hard drive.

The WD 500GB with eSATA cables installed without any problems. Just follow the installation guide.

Brighthouse would only comment that they do not "support' the Sata outlet. My unit had the new "flat" eSATA plug and not the older "L-shaped" SATA plug.

I now have 660GB of storage and it's great for football season.

Thanks for all the comments in this forum for help in researching the adding of the external hard drive. It added greatly to my success.
