Here are a few pictures of another JBL installation at London’s Leicester Square (Planet Hollywood) is located on the same side as the Empire Leicester Square only two blocks down. These pictures where taken on Sunday April 20th 2008 of this year and noticeably they had the weather proof JBL control 1 for outside and on the inside JBL control 1 placed around on the lobby area and in the restaurant area as well.

The screening cinema THX approved was closed that day as there wasn’t a technician on duty, the cinema is also a JBL installation, I was meaning to pop on by to see if there was a projectionist on duty early this month, but decided to wait until another time around.

Do you know if they managed to do anything about the tube trains vibrating the entire room every 3 minutes?

Oh no, does it really run underneath (Planet Hollywood) LOL! I know it runs right underneath the Odeon Leicester Square screen 6 I’ve heard it first hand when the manager showed me the interior of the auditorium about an hour before they opened on (Sunday April 20th 2008).

I guess depending on what the film is they could turn it into a feature. Tuborama, LRT pro or something.

The Planet Hollywood one is really annoying I have to say. Its not subtle.

That’s interesting because one of the videos the projectionist said something like its "one of the best sounding cinemas". They always say that LOL maybe when it’s loud enough to drown out the underground! “Tuborama” bugger that.:D

AS with many manufacturers, a bunch of the JBL isn't what it used to be. I've heard the Control 1s in many applications, and they are the most tinny sounding small speakers I've ever heard. Heck, I'd take the Bose Conrol 32s over the Control 1s. THe Control 5s aren't much better, ditto for the Control 5 replacements. I've had better sounding results with Made in China no name speakers for 1/2 the price. Give me some 2225s, 10" mids and some bullet tweeters circa 1979-1985 any day. :)

You're comparing apples and oranges, guy. Of course those tweeters will be better - they're from 970 years in the future.

FUTURE TWEETERS.

Fixerered.

Yes, I am comparing 15" woofs to tiny 4" ones. Thing is, the JBL Control 1s are made offshore just like the no name brands. Give me the 70's build quality and magnet structure over the new disposable stuff any day.

Point of fact no I think I had the flash on automatic its too dark I should have had selected the other flash mode, I barely, just see the JBL control 1.

What’s interesting this wasn’t the only coffee food store, that’s they way, I think of Planet Hollywood.

A few blocks away there was the Curzon cinema with two THX cinemas and next-door it was coffee food store that had JBL control installed. I’d have to fish around for the pictures in my folder.
