Any thoughts on the disadvantages to keeping my Casablanca on at all times versus turning off when finished and on when I want to use it. I almost never turn off my amps (Bryston) nor DAC.

There are moments during the day on occasion I would like to listen to music so I have been keeping everything on all of the time,

Don't own a Casablanca so I can't speak to its quirks. But I do own a Bryston PA and there is no valid technical reason for leaving it powered continuously. All you are doing is wasting power. Their (unique) output bias control utilizes negative feedback and stabilizes very quickly. Probably only takes a few minutes to reach equilibrium.

Do the Brystons not have a DC trigger so the CB can take them in and out of a standby position?
It takes all of about 10 seconds for my blanca to boot up and turn on 3 Levinson amps.

The only disadvantage I can see with leaving all this stuff on all day is the added cost to your electric bill for the actual equipt. staying powered needlessly and the AC turning on more often to handle the additional heat output. Besides, it's not very "GREEN" of you in this day and age.

IMO it's doubtful that it'll shorten the equipments lifespan by leaving it on unless it's all sitting in an enclosed space with poor ventilation.

The Casablanca in Standby mode leaves the mother board and software on all the time. The output is turned off in stand by and is activated when turned on only. There is no need to keep the Blanca in full on mode as the OS is always loaded unless the master power switch on the back is turned off or it is unplugged. If the master is turned off the unit goes through a re-boot when it is powerd up.
As the other posts said if your amps have a 12V trigger, I would hook them up to the Blanca's 12V trigger to turn them on when the Blanca comes out of Standby. This saves power and Air Conditioning. If your amps have a trigger their input and driver stages may well stay on all the time, and the trigger just powers on the output stage which is the thirsty one. I know Theta's amps all operate in this manner. This allows the amps to sound their best almost immediately. Hope this helps and reduces your power bill. Regards, Norm

My 3BST does have dc trigger. There is no standby - it's either on/off. There are probably items that do take a long time to thermally stabilize, but I would consider solid-state equipment exhibiting this trait to be of mediocre design.
