My parents are moving to Dominica. They want to purchase a Sony Bravia surround sound system with DVD to take with them. Since this isn't a region free unit will it be a problem in the Caribbean?

I think that island is region 4, along with most of the Caribbean. Or maybe region 2 if it falls under the category of British or French overseas territory. Puerto Rico I think is the only major island there that's region 1.

Yes there will be a problem unless the player can be made (hacked) to be region free.
