Comments and suggestions please. Not too bad. Grayscale looks good and color repro looks good. The only thing I see is your gamma needs to be adjusted. You can try either lowering contrast and brightness or you can use the gamma control itself. You need to get closer to 2.2. Once you get gamma adjusted, though, you'll need to double check your grays as more than likely they'll need readjusted as well. josephwade 08-16-08, 12:11 AM Thanks for the help Nicholc2. Can you look at this one? My picture keeps getting better each time. Thanks josephwade thomasl 08-16-08, 08:39 AM Thanks for the help Nicholc2. Can you look at this one? My picture keeps getting better each time. Thanks josephwade Joe, you may want to post your HCFR file in the HCFR calibration files thread so more folks who use HCFR will see it. Also, if you can post a before chc - especially before altering the CMS controls if your Samsung has them, that would be good for comparison to see what has changed. Your measures look pretty good. Assuming that your Samsung has the CMS controls that the newest models have and you are aiming for HD709 then you could tweak yellow's hue a bit more to get it closer to the HD709 spec - moving it a bit more toward green. Also, your brightness values for green (~-8%), blue (~+11%) and cyan (~-6%) could be tweaked a bit more to get closer to HD709 but they are not bad as they are now. Your grayscale tracking looks very good but your brightness level at 0% seems a tad high - does black look "black" or "darkish gray"? Your light output at 100% is also pretty high - ~65 ftls. What environment are you watching the display in? Is there a lot of ambient light in the room? You may want to experiment with lowering the backlight control in order to reduce overall light output which should also reduce the amount of light at 0% (black). Finally, your gamma from 20% to 10% jumps up a bit (2.2 to 2.4). What method did you use to set brightness? Did you use a black bars test pattern? I would double check brightness and of course, if you tweak anything (backlight, brightness, contrast, etc.), make sure to go back and re-check your grayscale tracking. hope this helps, --tom dood56 09-01-08, 12:05 PM What program do I need to view these calibration settings?
