Hi folks,

I am from Australia and I am looking to buy one of these dual format players. Before making a decision , I got a question for you guys regarding warranty

question is Is International warranty available on both players?

I bought a new BH200 on Ebay. It failed. LG will not honor warranty because they consider a web buyer to be the second owner and only original owners are covered. They have a year warranty and mine was manufactured in Dec 2007. It does not matter. LG is a company that looks for reasons not to honor a warranty.

I bought my LG BH200 on eBay, my invoice specifically says eBay and LG had no problem honoring my warranty.

If it gets sent in for repair, I don't care where you bought it from I will warranty it for repair.

Here is the exact message:

My name is Jeffery Dillain. I am an attorney for LG. If you are an authorized dealer of LG products, you must register your ebay user id with your dealer license number.

If you are not authorized to sell LGE products online, you must immediately terminate all selling activity on ebay and any other websites you may own.

Please provide us with your dealer account number (US#) and your company name or DBA name. If we do not receive this information within 72 hours you will be issued a cease and desist order from our legal department and we will notify ebay of your copyright infringement and unauthorized sales activity. Each violation of copyright mandate carries a fine of up to $10,000 and is punishable with a jail sentence of up to 1 year.

Your cooperation in this matter is mandatory.

Sincerely,
Jeffery Dillain
LGE Corp., General Counsel, Dept. of Commerce

All i was trying to do was sell my "backup" unit and i get this! And on top of that, it was my first ever!!!! listing to sell something on ebay. I guess life's NOT so good.

I was referring to warranty work being honored not the selling of products on ebay. That is something out of my control.

Did you include any copyrighted information in your listing like photos from the LG website, product description, etc. Something must've ticked off LG.

P.S. That bh-200 is still for sale if anyone wants it. 325 shipped????

Did you list it as new or used. You should not have a problem selling it if you list it was used.

as per ebays description of "new", i listed it as new. I had never opened it, ergo, it was new. Its the same as selling a car, i doesnt matter if it moves from one car dealership to another as long as the odometer say 0. The LG was unopened, ergo new. I did state in the ad it was my personal backup unit so it wasnt like i was implying there was a warranty. I dunno????

Since you were selling it was "new" you were not an authorized reseller, that was probably why LG sent the letter.
