Here is my current setup:

Note, I have a media closet that contains some of this stuff and some stuff is going to be moved above a main TV which is about 50 feet of cable away.

-- Main Receiver: Yamaha RX-V2700 (In Media Closet)

Following wired to 2700:
-- Popcorn Hour (In Media Closet)
-- 1 HDTV Cable Box (In Media Closet)
-- PC (In Media Closet) wired to 2700 via DVI/HDMI
-- Sonos Music System (In Media Closet)

-- I presently have Xbox360 in media closet and Wii above the TV. But I want to move the Xbox360 above the TV along with the Wii. And then use a 4 in 1 Component Cable For Wii Xbox360 PS3 (from Monoprice) and then use 5 RCA female / females to connect the 4/1 component to a 50 foot Audio and Component Cable and run that back in to 2700.

Would that cause any sound or display lag? (Note the Wii is direct wired in TV now and nothing going back to 2700 and I plan on getting a PS3 sometime in the future and placing that above the TV)

Now for the fun stuff.

The 2700 has the ability to run Zone 2 video and audio and Zone 3 just audio.

Zone 2 Video and Audio:
I've purchased what I've called a "Baller TV" that will setup beside my other bigger main tv. Basically it a TV that will please my A.D.D. side :)

From the 2700 zone 2, I'm planning on running a component cable w/audio into the inputs of the TV.

The plan with this TV is to have my main TV running whatever source (gaming, HDTV or PC) and then use the baller tv running whatever else.

Will that work? And does anyone know if the audio from the 2700 has to go into another receiver or can I just run that into the audio inputs on the TV? I'm assuming it will work, but I want to double check.

Zone 3 Audio:
Zone 3 is just going to be used run outdoor speakers. So that is pretty straight forward.

Note, the 2700 came with a dedicated zone 2/3 remote for volume mainly. So I would use that remote for Zone 3 or the Sonos remote for Zone 3 volume control. But I assume I would have to run a IR emitter to somewhere outside if I wanted to use the 2700 zone remote. In that case, I would probably just manually turn on Zone 3 and use the Sonos remote for volume.

Big Kicker: Harmony 890 / 1000
Next kicker is I want to control Zone 1 video/audio and Zone 2 video/audio and turn on/off Zone 3 audio via a Harmony 890 or 1000 remote.

But I would be mainly using the Harmony in my media room for Zone 1 and 2 control.

So the plan with the Harmony would be to turn on or off either tv's and select Zone 1 or Zone 2 video/audio sources and volume control of each zone. Zone 1 audio would 2700 and Zone 2 would be the TV.

Based on what all the separate threads I've read, it's all appears do-able and its going to be a fun setting this up to do on the Harmony.

But before I start re-wiring, mounting a new TV and playing with the Harmony remote. I just wanted to get the thoughts of the mass here to be 100% what I'm planning will work as planned.

Any other thoughts or comments would greatly be appreciated!!

Thanks!

curious,

why do you want the gaming rigs at the TV?

What kind of TV's are they?

The Wii has to be at the TV because of the cable length of the senor bar. And don't get me wrong, the Xbox works great in the media closet. But playing rock band is tough when the TV is in one area of the room and the Xbox is in another. I got 2 USB 6" extenders that run behind the TV and that allows me to plug in the drum set and mic or charger without blocking the tv with cables. Plus, I'm lazy to walk the 20 feet back and forth to change games.

Main TV is a 50" Samsung Plasma 5053 (yes, its a few years old) and the baller tv is presently a 19" LG 19LG30 LCD or may get the bigger 22" LG 22LG30 one once I get everything setup. As my wife says, go big or go home.. God I love her!

what about using the wireless sensor bar for the Wii?

Didn't know I could get a wireless sensor bar! Got to look into that!! But it doesn't get around the wireless drum set that I would need for rock band. And I haven't heard that happening anytime soon.

Have you considered HDMI runs instead of the massive component/audio cluster you are planning? I believe your receiver can handle the cross.

I have a HDMI running from 2700 to Zone 1 video. And Zone 2 can only run component video out. So I'll have a cross regardless.

Anyone have any thoughts of getting this all to run on a Harmony 890/1000?
