I calibrated component output HD cable to look amazing, can I use the same settings on HDMi output(PS3) or that needs its own type of settings?. Or could putting these settings look even better on HDMi?. What exactly is the difference between each ouput?.

edit-
Oh on a side note and what is Super White for on PS3?, also what is the best settings for BD/DVD settings( Ybc..ect or RBG?)

Greetings

Going between analog and digital ... a good idea to double check the calibration. that should take you about 5 minutes.

I wanted to see if it was a good idea before bothering to mess with it, I am here wondering if the settings on the component HDcable output would also be good for the PS3 HDMi(Bluray movies and Games). Just wanted to know the difference between both outputs and how perhaps the same settings wouldn't have the same effect on each.

If you are calibrating "outputs" you should be working in the signal source component's menu, not the display's menu. If you are actually calibrating the display inputs, you should be working in the display's menu. It's not clear to me when you are discussing display settings or source component settings.

Output quality from the sources( in this case component/Hmdi )

Greetings

This discussion alone will likely take you longer than just going ahead and checking it out yourself. :)

Are you actually saying there are settings in your HD Cable set top box's menu, dedicated to the component video output signal, that you think can be similarly used for your PS3 console's HDMI output menu settings?

It still sounds to me like you are actually calibrating the input settings on your display, but asking if the menu settings can be considered compatible and equivalent for both the component and HDMI inputs. It also sounds like you are asking if the display's input settings, derived from making adjustments for your cable box signal, can be properly used for viewing both your cable and PS3 programs. Please clarify and elaborate on what it is you want to accomplish.

if you calibrate your tv based on the component out from the ps3, the hdmi out form the ps3 will calibrate differently. they output a different enough signal to where the settings will be a little different.
