I hope you will not flame me, but I was wanting some input on what differences I will hear?

Currently: Yahmaha RX-V2500, PMC DB-1 pair front, PMC DB1-MC Center, ceiling mounted surrounds just old radio shacks. Subwoofer is Sony SA-WM40 which specs say is 120W, 20Hz-170Hz frequency range and 50Hz-170Hz cutoff.

I am considering a MFW-15 subwoofer or possibly the Rocket RSS300 Adaptive Dipole speakers.

Which upgrade would be better for wow effect? Would the subwoofer really make that much of a difference.

I am a big movie buff and like music as well, but 75-80% will be movies.

Forgot: room is large family room about 20x25 with vaulted ceiling.

Input please?

Best bang for your buck would be the subwoofer.

Yup IMO at least 50% of the HT experience comes from a good subwoofer. Good surrounds are nice but you will notice a good sub more.

What did you expect the consensus would be? Of course everyone will say "the sub". After all, this is a subwoofer forum!
