Hi, I'm looking for an HD Tuner that tunes Clear Qam and NTSC after realizing that my Samsung doesn't tune NTSC. Any help would be great.

Wow, they're finally selling TV's that don't tune analog? That's hard to believe since it's not dead yet.

Most or all front-projectors have no tuner at all. They're purely displays.

However, there are very few standalone tuner-only units that can do both HD (ATSC/QAM) and NTSC. The PrimeDTV and maybe the Tivax (or does that one do SD not HD on the ATSC/QAM side?) are the only ones that come to my mind.

There are also some hard-disk based DVRs: the Tivo HD and Tivo Series 3, and the discontinued Sony DHG-HDD250/500 and LG LST-3410A.

All current DVD recorders sold in the USA that have tuners (some have no tuner at all) have all of NTSC/ATSC/QAM, as far as I know, and they can be used as external tuners. But none of them output an HD signal. They all downconvert HD to SD, both for recording and for display. Some have HDMI upconversion, but they always upconvert the down-converted signal, which of course doesn't produce true HD.
