Hi Im still learning when it comes to subwoofers but I noticed the other night looking through the lcd readout it has a Subsonic option. Pressing it gives me the option from off to 20hz upt to 45hz. My understanding I could be wrong as an example is if I have the subsonic filter at 30hz everything that is 30hz and below will be filtered out is that correct? What is the benefits of it and I was told at very low HZ subs can be damaged also is that true?

That's correct.
The subsonic filter will taper off the frequencies below the set point. The idea is that a particular subwoofer enclosure or speaker wouldn't be able to efficiently reproduce those extremely low frequencies. Why bother wasting precious amplifier power and headroom and dissapate those extra watts in the speaker for no reason?

Thanks Greg for your reply, but that last comment is that meant to be a question?

A rhetorical question, oops. My point is that if your speaker and cabinet can't support the lowest fequencies, there is no point in wasting precious amplifier power to attempt to do so. The subsonic filter cuts that part out, and allows the amplifier to concentrate on the signal content that's meaningful for your particular sub.
