Hi,

I recently bought Pioneer DV-410V-K and connected it to Marantz SR8002 receiver. The very first time I connected I noticed that the sound goes ON and after a a couple of seconds OFF, and repeat this. I then noticed that HDMI light in the receiver goes on and then OFF (also the display that says what speakers are getting signals (i.e. 5.1)).

I realized that when I switch to DVD player the first time after I power on, or somewhere in between this is causing trouble. However, if I switch to, say TV, and then come back to DVD, then it is okay.

I wasnt sure how bad this issue is. Has anyone seen this issue? Does anyone have an answer for this? Any clues? Who should I contact? Pioneer or Marantz?

If it matters, I use Dell 2407wfp 24" monitor (with Rev 00) with DVI connection for now.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks
dharani

So does the sound drop when you're playing something on the dv410?

I've never had audio drop outs with my dv410 connected via hdmi to a yamaha rx-v1800 receiver. Sometimes, I power off my components all at once with my universal remote and I don't notice your issues when powering them on when next using them.

This is typical HDCP handshake problem. Can't say whose problem it is. Try proper power one sequqnce, TV->AVR->DVD player.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

Once the handshake is perfect, I dont have any audio drop. But when I have the handshake problem as I explained, the sound would be on then off, then on then off, ...

However, I didnt check while playing a DVD. I would imagine the case is the same.

Thanks for the advice on the power on sequence. I will do accordingly.
