Hey everybody!
My wife recently had me move everything in my living room. Everything LOOKS nice except I noticed a slight decrease in my HD PQ.
The original Lines weren't long enough so here's what I did.
I used a gold plated Philips F Connector to join my original 2 HD lines into one.
I went out and bought some GE 75 Ohm RG6 cable (25 feet).
I COULD have bought some Philips Quad Shield RG6 with gold connectors that is supposedly 3X "faster".
WOULD that cable make a noticeable difference?
Should going from a 7 foot line to a 25 foot line have noticeably reduced my PQ? Any help is appreciated.

Define slight loss in picture quality. What are you seeing?

Certain shows and channels are a little more pixelated or blotchy. Other shows and channels look fine though.
I suppose it COULD be due to compression as Monk on USA HD looked pretty good though Psych looked almost like SD.
It also could be that I am now closer to my tv.

I'd be really surprised if extending the feed from the dish had any impact on PQ. Check the signal levels on the receiver, they should be up in the 90's for your active transponders.

Yeah, I am starting to think that maybe it was just a bad day?
Both tuners read about 95 so I should be ok. Guess I was worrying over nothing.
Are all 75 ohm RG6 cables basically the same? I really wonder if people can perceive any noticeable difference, or is it sort of like HDMI, either it works or it doesn't?

With DirecTV, the coax cable from the dish to the receiver will not make a difference in picture quality, if it's RG-6 and properly terminated. Either it works or not. If the receiver is tuning channels correctly, the coax cable is OK, for at least now.
You may have another problem, or be imagining things.

Please explain what you mean by "joining...into one"

I connected two seperate lines by using a coupler.
So now I have one cable that was slaved to gether to reach on one tuner and the GE cable on the other.
