I am still a bit off from buying, but the two display that I am looking at are the 67a750 and the 52a650. Both are Samsung displays. One is DLP the other LCD. I am aware that a vast array of new models are hitting the market soon so answers are highly prone to change. I wanted to ask this question here as I know the response I'd get if i were to go to the rear projection or LCD boards. I DO have a plasma in consideration. All seating would be sitting roughly 8 feet from the screen and within the recommended 45 degrees. That said, if you had to recommend one of these models which would you recommend?

This is like walking into a BMW dealership and asking which Acura you should buy.

I would recommend getting neither, and instead get a plasma. Why would you want an LCD? Or a DLP? Neither can hold a candle to plasmas. But, a fool is easily parted with his money (I believe that is the saying).... In other words, it's your money, do what you want with it.

Fair enough, I was just hoping for an unbiased response.

well with people sitting off center all the time, i do not recommend either dlp or lcd. they lose detail off center. of course any dlp loses detail the more toward the edge you look. lcds lose their black detail and some color when u r off center. i would def say plasma if you can afford it. of course HD looks good on anything , but comparing the 3 plasma will always win in clarity and overall performance.

Definitely decide on size before you pick a technology.

I don't think the 750 LCD has major issues with off angle viewing.

I have owned 14 DLPs. A Samsung A550 LCD in the house for one month, auditioned the A650 and A750 for hours on end. And have had Three Plasma's (Panasonics) in the house for months.

Our usage is:
OTA HD
Primetime
Live Sports
Recorded HD
DVD
BluRay

(no cable, sat, or games - it's just not our thang).

In our humble opinion the choices are:

1. Plasma (I would consider only Panasonic or Pioneer)
2. DLP Samsung - the A750, this set has a wide viewing angle, little distortion, and excellent color.
3. LCD - I see absolutly no reason why they make LCD's. I do not understand why people buy them? We have lived with them long enough to know they do not work for us as a HD TV set.
