With Directv 11 now operational, for some reason I have zeroes across the board for 99(c). Everything else is good and strong. I have re-installed the latest update(which got 99(C) 90's and 100's for 1 day). This afternoon, I lost it all again. I cant figure it out. Can someone maybe help me out with some advice. Thank you.

Could be a number of problems. Bad cable/terminations, bad STB, bad LNB(s). Was everything always fine before the update?

Hi Ken. Come to think of it, maybe 6 months ago, I had to reboot my receiver because all my transponders went 0's. I can't remember too many details about that, unfortunately. I have noticed searching for satellite awhile back too. I better check these possible problems you listed. How would I test the LNB to see if this is the problem?

As far as the LNBs just assure the connection is good and they are in good shape. No cracks and such...

Try rebooting your receiver.

I have done that. I took off my bbc's and they were really hard to get off the receiver. There was corrosion. I will try to get some new bbc's form d*. One question, which lNB on the Slimline goes with sat 99?

Occasionally I have found that a complete reboot, which wipes everything off the hard drive, works. You will loose any saved recorded items.

is this another option to just "restart your receiver"? I will try this. This has been a real pain in the *ss. Could this be why I only lose sat 99 intermittently? A call into D* will be coming shortly if these little tricks don't work.

Errrr.....where are you keeping your IRD and BBCs to get corrosion. If there is corrosion on the BBC, there can just as easily be corrosion in your IRD.

When I took off those bbc's(i needed a small adjustable wrench), there was this white hardened powder-like stuff on the satellite in metal inputs. My HR21-700 is sitting underneath my tv on a shelf with 4 other components. It's all situated in my finished basement about a foot from the wall. How would I now if my IRD is corroded?
