(I apologize for being a newbie, but I'm not sure where else to turn, and would rather avoid palying $400 for service if I don't have to)
I have a Sony Grand WEGA 50 inch LCD projection. (Model KDF-E50A10) I have a standard HD cable box from Motorola. I also have an Emerson CD/DVD player as well as a stadard set of rabbit ears in the ANT slot prior to my subscription to digital cable. I have had the TV for a year and a half, and have never had an issue with any portion of my reception.
Last evening, I was playing my XBox in HD mode online against a friend. Everything was fine, until I switched back over to my Video 5 port to watch the Olympics in HD (via my cable box). I noticed in HD mode, I have a series of pixels lit in various colors...streteched across the screen, about 2/3 of the way down.
I reset the television and reset my cable box. I removed the Xbox and even tried to use my rabbit ears to pick up HD signals over the air. In all cases, any time I tried to access a digital/HD channel, I got this band of multi-colored pixels across the screen. When I leave VIDEO5 and watch standard def, the lines dissapear.
Could the XBox and/or the wireless modem have caused this issue?
I apolgize for the crude nature of my issue, but as I said...I'm not sure where to turn.
Any assistance/advice would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks,
Andrew
