Mostly very happy with three week old set. But on two out of about 200 occasions upon power-up there's no audio on HD channels (supplied from my cable box via component cables). Analog channels work fine. After power-cycle (leaving cable box on), HD audio then works fine. Can live with problem but worried that it might get worse or indicate possible lemon.

Technician wants to replace main board. Are main board settings calibrated to match the set's display panel, a calibration best done at the factory? Do I change the board and risk being out of calibration and potentially worse problems? I can still return the set for a replacement, but I don't want to be without it for a month. What would you do? Thank you.

Try the proper display section for your TV type, this area is for HD reception equipment. Personally if something is acting up on it, get it replaced while it's still free.

Try the proper display section for your TV type, this area is for HD reception equipment.I thought this was section was for anything technical. If there were a bugs section, I'd have posted there. But the failed audio and infant mortality (bugs in brand new equipment) topics have nothing to do with the display. And I couldn't find anyone that had a similar problem this forum seemed like the most appropriate. Perhaps I should have left out the model number and made it a more generic discussion.

Personally if something is acting up on it, get it replaced while it's still free.I absolutely agree. I'm told that I can exchange it for free, but I don't want to be without it for a month. But more than that, I don't want the problem to show itself or a be indicative of a bigger one coming after warranty expires.

Has anyone had a similar experience and learned something that they can share?

Thanks.

It may be a technical issue but folks with the same or similar set in the flat panel threads may have better info than anyone in these threads.
