I just got a new 80gb ps3 and I cannot get it to display 1080p to my xbr5. 1080i works fine but no 1080p. I am connecting it to the tv through HDMI. Anyone know how I can fix this?

We need a bit more info to help.

Is it that when the PS3 outputs 1080p you get no picture? This could mean that you have a bad HDMI cable. 1080p uses double the bandwidth of 1080i, so sometimes with bad cables 1080i will work while 1080p does not. The solution here is to try another HDMI cable.

If it's just that it's not finding 1080p when it automatically checks for resolutions, then you can use manual and make sure 1080p is checked. It will then output in 1080p with a little timed verification box to make sure you can actually use that resolution (much like windows does when you change the resolution).
