They are talking about this on the Teamxbox forums, and I didn't see a post about this anywhere on AVS yet. So far, I haven't heard any real confirmation of this, but if true, somewhat suprising. Obviously, the PS3 doesn't have very many exclusives this holiday, so this would be big for them. Kinda sucks, cause I usually prefer to play mulitplats on 360 because I prefer the controller and achievements (not a fan of trophys yet). Hopefully this rumor is totally unfounded, but I guess even if it is true, there are so many games coming in the next 90 days that it might get lost in the shuffle anyways.

The game looks really neat, but with so much coming out this holiday season I would be surprised if it sold very well on either platform.

I'm not too worried about it. It reminds me of that game Namco made for the last gen xbox that was an FPS. Can't remember the name but your fist kinda glowed.

indeed, and really that's the only reason I would think that EA would want Mirrors edge out later on 360. truth is they probably made Sony think it was their idea.

I'm not worried about it. The game will be rad as hell, but the later games come out, the more time I have to finish what is on my plate right now. Hell, I would be extremely happy if nothing came out on any platform for the next year. :)

EA “Mirror’s Edge will not be a Timed Exclusive for PS3″


A German Tech site has quoted David Reeves from Leipzig as having stated that Mirror’s Edge would be a timed exclusive for the PS3, this came out of the blue for many people looking forward to the game and especially the Xbox 360/PC owners.

The PS3 will be continuously supplied with exclusive games: “We are continuously, month after month publish new titles that bring something unique and different target groups. In a month, it is Gran Turismo, in the next SingStar, as well as Third-Party Title as mirrors Edge by Electronic Arts are part of this strategy. “ According to Reeves Mirrors Edge will initially exclusively for the PS3 this year. PC and Xbox 360 versions would follow much later.

EA however have declined this statement by the SCEE President with the following…..

Mirror’s Edge will be shipping this winter on PS3, XBOX360 and PC. Mirror’s Edge will not be a timed exclusive for PS3.

You never know. This could be another Haze situation. Just on the release not the quality of the game ;)
