The new PSP is getting a new overhaul on the screen showing how much better it looks. The picture is amazing.

Another slap in the face to PSP owners. Did Sony learn this lesson from Apple? They just released the PSP-2000 last year and now this is another hardware overhaul... including a mic.

I held out untill after E3 to buy a psp because there were a bunch of rumors swirling around, and now that stupid euro convention announces one after i buy a PSP

Actually, to me it looks like that top picture just has a LOT more light in it. I have the psp slim or whatever you call it (bought about 8 months ago) and to me it looks as good as the bottom picture. Aside from that I don't ever use it anyway and neither doesthe 10 year old.

And the snozzberries taste like real snozzberries!

just got a freaken slim psp in February....WTF

I just bought a PSP 1 month ago for my trip to BC.. damn.. but oh well, still pretty happy with it and I won't play in the sun so i don't care about the new glare thing... but the Strawberry game.!! IT LOOKS AWEOMSE!! :rolleyes::p

Wow, glad I held out. Looks like it's time to get a PSP.

It looks to me like it just has anti glare glass. That was one of my main gripes with the psp, terrible glare.

I have a launch PSP and I've had alot of fun with it over the years. I don't sit at home and gripe over the improvements they've made to the newest models.

I have been kinda waiting for my launch PSP to call it quits so I can get a new one, but the damn thing just won't die!
It's far better engineered than I thought it would be.

Only getting it if custom firmware works on it. That's the only way to use a PSP.

I'm holding out for the 1080p Plasma PSP

For whatever reason, I'm a sucker for whenever companies improve the screen. When Nintendo gave the GBA SP a dramatically brighter and clearer screen, I ended up buying one. It was a real night and day difference between the old GBA SP. Not sure if the difference is going to be as pronounced with this one, considering the PSP already had a pretty beautiful screen as it is, but if they made it even better than sign me up!

If they can manage to release a custom firmware for that, I'll buy two :D.
It's bull that they released a major hardware update not even 1 1/2 years
into the PSP-2000 life cycle.

Oh well, that strawberry game is better on the DS anyway.

Talk about disappointed, here I was coming into this thread thinking it was going to be about World of Warcraft for the PS3

Anyway the screen, I wonder if you could get a faceplate with an antireflective coating.

The current PSP screens are really quite good as it is, aside from the refresh rate. Compared to alot of other portable devices they have very good screens.

I'll probably buy a 3rd PSP if 2 conditions are met:

1) It can run custom firmware
2) The obnoxious ghosting problem both previous PSPs have (by far my biggest gripe with the PSP)


I generally don't bother with actual PSP games, so it'd basically be just for homebrew stuff. The LCD screen on both the released PSP models looks fantastic... as long as nothing high contrast is moving on the screen.

All companies have to continuously improve their products.. If they didn't, they wouldn't be in business for very long!

That's funny. I don't feel as though I've been slapped in the face. I've got a white original PSP I imported from Japan and it still does all the stuff it advertised it did when I bought. All of my games still work and I still enjoy them. Funny how people always find something to complain about.
