hello all, just today saturday august 23, 2008- i can't get hd dvd's to play on my bh200. until now it has been great for everything-blu,hd dvd, sd dvd- the answer to my prayers really. then just today-i get a message on my t.v. screen to check my connection-device won't register. But here's the thing- I can play sd dvd's and blu-ray's like normal, only hd dvd's won't play all of a sudden. This has me concerned, especially because just last night I was playing hd dvd's on it with no problem-WHAT GIVES??????? please help me... i have tried unplugging it already

you might want to update or reinstall the firmware, disconnect and reconnect all the cables, and pray. if that doesn't work you can be like me and lament having bought a dual format player before the format war ended...i wish it hadn't--i really like the hddvd format...

You cannot do re-install the same using an internet connection. Not sure you can do it from a CD. You can always (from a CD) install a back level and then re-install the latest.

You can install any firmware (even if it's older, newer or the same as your current one) by downloading it and copying it to a USB Stick/CD/DVD:

As Kurtis says, you cannot from the Ethernet connection as that just looks for newer firmware/drivers and installs them.

What error do you get playing them? I'd try to re-install the June firmware and 0702 driver first. Details of where to find both are in the link above.

I didn't realise you were still running the April firmware. Upgrade to the June firmware and maybe kill two birds, if you will.
