i have a vizio vw26l. im very new to this sorta thing and this is my first post so please feel free to talk to me like a n00b :). im haveing some bad over scan on my set. from what i can tell looking at my games on PS3 and compairing to screen shots in mags and on the net im missing roughly an inch to an inch and a half on every side. this is on a 26 inch set. i contacted vizio and the tech guy tried to be helpfull but just didnt know what was going on. i think it was the first time he had ever heard of over scan lol. i have run poor google to death tryn to find a way to adjust this. i can find no way to get into the service menu ect. does any one have any advice for me. could i get this adjusted at a local tv repair shop? i live in a small town about a hour out of tallahassie florida. so i dont know of any calibration experts. and as the tv was only 450$ i can not see droping another 200$ on getting it calibrated. plus i do not have those funds to spend. the TV is out of store warrinty so i cant take it back.

Please any help would be wuved. so far its not been a huge problem as its not so bad its cutting off in game dats.... so far but im missing out on somethings like in some race games i can not see the side mirrors. i have it on HDMI and the Wii is on componint. both share the same problem.

Blake, check for threads on your particular Vizio, or a PS3, Wii, or HTPC-related thread. Also check your owner's manual. There may be a setting you can use in one or more of those places.

One thing I would recommend as well is to pick up (buy or rent) the BD version of Digital Video Essentials. There is a display pattern on it that will let you know for sure if you are losing information or not. Also, like Rolls said, you should check the owners threads as well. Alot of times, owners will have similar issues and post solutions. If that's an issue with your set, then you might be able to find the answer there.

You could also call Visio or check their website as well.
