I did finilize it. It plays fine in a DVD player but when I put it in my computer it tells me there is not disk in the player.

Is your computer drive a multiformat -R/RW and +R/RW reader, or at least reads the type of disc you've got?

Is the disc title recorded in 1-hr-HQ or XP mode?

Check the disc status in the Philips: on 1st page of titles, highlight any title, left-arrow, read data.
