i recently purchased a 1.83GHZ Intel Core Duo MacMini. i bought a DVI-HDMI cable to run the Mini to the Panasonic plasma. the picture is amazing but i get no sound so i ran to radio shack and purchased a cable with 1/8" stereo plugs on both ends. i ran that from the optical audio out on the Mini to the Audio input on the TV but that still doesn't help. what should i use? thanks

I just checked the specs on the mini. Make sure you have the following items checked.
1. The mini has two 1/8" jacks on the back. One is an input and the other is an output. Make sure you're connected to the output.
2. Make sure that the mini is not muted and the Panny also has the volume turned up.
3. On some TVs, the HDMI inputs have specific audio inputs. For example, my Sharp HDTV has two HDMI ports. One HDMI port has auxiliary audio ports, while the other doesn't. Make sure your Panny has audio ports for the HDMI port you're using.
3a. Also, regarding the TV, if you are using the correct ports, your TV might have a setting in the menu to set the audio for the HDMI port. Otherwise, it might be looking for the audio coming from the HDMI cable (which, of course is non-existant in your case).
4. Make sure all of your cables are fully inserted. If I had dollar every time ....
Good Luck
