I need to decide between a HV30 and HF100. I've shot with both and they are nearly dead on each other -- very surprising as I thought the HF100 would trail by some. However, AVCHD editing on a Mac is a pain. Using iMovie 7 I have to import the AVCHD (5 minutes = 15 minute import), then take that .MOV file and import into iMovie 6 for better editing (takes the same 3x). That means just importing is going to take 6x the footage with that workflow... still sorting this out for the first time.

SOOOO, is solid state worth it? The question is how much of an issue is moisture, dropouts and general tape failure? I recently shot with a HC9 and had major tape dropouts until I switched to Sony HD tapes. BUT on a recent trip to the humid south the camera wouldn't record due to moisture. What has your experience been with the HV20/30?
