hello guys.

i have a lil problem.... ok well a big problem.... i use to have a sony hi8 camcorder.... when to my country and left the camera there and bought the tapes here but now i have a problem.... i borrowed my cuzin camcorder try to play the tapes don't work .... so i called sony they told me dat since i recorded on a different camcorder of different model... i can't veiw it... cuz he gave me some header crap being different... so he told to either go buy same model i recorded on or buy hi8 player.... well i just bought a hdd camcorder not lookin forward to spent anymore money.... can someone please me please see if there is any other way i can use to convert those tape in dvd..... please thank in advance.....

Unless you want to pay big dollars for a hi 8 player that you will probably only use once.... I would simply take the tapes to a studio and have them transcode the tapes to a format that you can use. The last time I did this (was fairly cheap.... less than $100) for 3 old 78rpm Vinyl records from the 1930's to be transcoded to dvd.

Wolf Camera will do it for about $16 per hour of tape.
