View Full Version : Changing Remote Frequency w/Motorola 2500 and FIOS

My father in law has FIOS and was given 2 Motorola 2500 boxes in his TV room; the remote frequency is the same for each box. When he tries to change the box connected to his Tivo, both boxes change channels (not what he wants). The IR blaster on the Tivo also changes both boxes (fixing this with duct tape doesn't fully solve the problem for when remotes are used).

Is there a way to set one box as an "A" and one box as a "B" so that 1 remote DOESN'T control them all? I can program a universal to the A and B or he does have the 2 remotes in the room and one can have a label for Tivo and the other direct.

I've checked on line, but I can't find a solution.

Is there a different solution which keeps things simple, cheap and doesn't create havoc in their house? TV isn't that important, but this issue is driving my in-laws nuts.

Thanks

Andrew
