I managed to get the service menu code for this HDTV I got for my son( Emprex 3202H- v.1 HDMi), I probably just want to fix some small overscan he has on the TV but I am not sure what to press or see if I can even do that. Help me out here.

I see all of this exactly on the Menu( Left Side)

KAOLUNG mode(GENIE)

GENIE-CM32
GENIE-AU32
GENIE-IP26
GENIE-IP32
GENIE-LP37
AV support
AV2 not support
Factory Reset
Aging Mode
RFupdate

On the right side I see just the info about of the Model.

Given what you have posted - I wouldn't touch a thing! That has "land mine" written all over it.
Unless the "Genie" settings are 'banks' with additional parameters that tree down, nothing you have posted gives any indication remotely adaptive to adjustments.

Gslide, I wouldn't touch the service menu if you don't know what you are doing, one change and it can screw up a lot more than just overscan. also the service menu is not something that someone can easily walk you thru, like Coyotes said "That has land mine written all over it".

My advice is, if you don't understand the service menu, get the heck out fast.

I figured it would be, thats why I didn't even touch them because I don't know what it would happen. I am going to just leave it as it is because he really can't tell what overscan is anyways only my eyes saw it and isn't really that bad.

Its kinda crazy though how these settings are soo scary looking lol, not simple looking at all and with language I never heard off before, wtf is aging mode? or Genie? weird lol. Thanks for the warning guys.

Greetings

People used to ask why repair manuals never really explained what anything meant. The answer was obvious ... yet not obvious. The people reading the manual were already expected to know what the things meant. A technical document aimed at people with the background to understand it.

A book on brain surgery does not teach a person to be a doctor first. Some things are assumed by the writers. so if one had to ask, then the book was not directed at them.

A service manual might help here ... although doubtful.

"If you have to ask, then you probably should not be in there." Terribly cold statement ... yes ... but also rings true. And I was here too before ... so I just kept searching and researching ... and explored further into the TV ... trying not to say "yes" to anything the TV asks ...

Most of the time ... you win ... but sometimes you lose ... and something scary happens to the TV. :(

The Genie stuff looks like how the Samsungs are laid out ... cryptic names that lead to other pages that reveal more names that actually do make sense. (Not an endorsement to wreck your set and blame the site)
