decided to blow the dust off of my centerstage processor to see how it might perform paired with my samsung 1080p lcd panel and have a few questions regarding custom resolutions. fwiw i called focus enhancements tech dept and they have obviously moved on - the centerstage units are nothing more than a distant memory as far as they are concerned and, as such, they are clearly no longer interested in fielding any questions regarding these units.

the cs user's manual states that any custom resolutions involving 720p, 1080i and 1080p will default to yprpb output only and that rgb (dvi) output will not be a selectable option. yet looking at the custom resolutions they've made available at their website it seems that this is not the case given that several of the the custom resolutions are indeed for rgb output (720p_rgb1, 720_rgb2, 720_rgb3, 1080p_rgb, etc.).

anyway i downloaded their custom 1080p_rgb custom resolution and noticed that it's 960 x 1080 instead of 1920 x 1080. are these the correct settings for 1080p? or was this done so that it could be output via rgb? also, there's not an input window for defining front porch when using the cs software package.

here's a look at cs's 1080p_rgb custom resolution:

can anyone here suggest a few additional 1080p settings i might try with this software that would work well with a samsung lcd?

I used to have a CS1 :( .

The owners manual is probably quite out of date.

I don't think this question is specific to the CS1/2.

You could try looking at the standard timings that every other VP is using for
1080p.

Are you trying to output over DVI or VGA - (I don't recal that you have so many options with DVI) ?

Can't you make your own profile for 1080p and use the YCbCr timings for RGB?

I don't think the above timings would work with 960x1080 - wrong pixel clock.

You won't be able to set front porch if you set total + the other settings - it will be whatever is left over.

thanks for your response nick -

i'm new to this so i really don't know how to setup my own profile for 1080p. i went to ab's website hoping that i might find some custom resolution profiles for their dvdo units that i could copy/try but i came up empty - or perhaps i just didn't know what to look for.

do you happen to know what settings i might try using this software that would achieve 1080p out via dvi?

anybody have resolution profiles for 1080p?

hdmi cable > dvi adapter > dvi in cs processor > dvi out cs processor > dvi adapter > hdmi cable > hdmi in 1080p lcd panel
