View Full Version : Turning a speaker into a dual amagnet, affects sound?

Hello,

I own a center channel speaker made by Omega-Audio (also produces many of the speakers sold by Renaudio.com (previously Morel USA). When I've purchased the speaker I still owned a 32" CRT tv, so I needed it to be magnetically shielded, so I've asked for that option. To do so the people at Omega-Audio put a metal cup and another magnet on each of the two 6.5" VIFA Mid-Basses.

Anyway, now I have no need for the magnetic shielding, and since I've placed the speaker differently I also think about asking them to turn the tweeter down about 1-2db (the new placement is making it sound brighter than before). Should I ask them to take out the second magnet they've put in? If it has no affect on sound than I dont care, but I assume it has some kind of influence, can someone elaborate please?

Thanks.
