Can anyone give me any suggestions on converting the HDV output from the Canon HV20 to composite?
Here's what I have:
HV20 Component to 32" Polaroid HDTV on audio engineer's desk,
HV20 Composite to 13" regular tv on video engineer's desk.
Both of these are working fine. 100 ft for each cable from Camera in the "attic" to the recording studio in the basement, includes going thru 35 ft of conduit.
So, What's the problem? I have "borrowed" cables for the component from another application; this must be restored before Christmas.
I have an HDMI cable running from the camera to the HDTV, and this works fine, with conditions. As soon as I plug the HDMI into the camera, I lose the analog video. Well, ok, there is a DV/HDV jack on the camera, and I connected that to a Dazzle Hollywood Bridge that I have sitting here. The Bridge doesn't work unless I lock the output to DV (from HDV) in the camera menu, but that downgrades the HDMI to 480i also. Kind of defeats the purpose of the HiDef camera.
So, does anyone know of a simple way to get fron HDV to composite video, like a Hollywood Bridge for HDV? Or must I stay with component and pull the 3 x 100' cables?
