I'm looking to purchase a TV in the 37 to 42 inch range for my grandmother. So far, the Panasonic TH-42PX80U looks like the winner at $849 from a local retailer. Price is a concern but I want something decent for the money. Any other suggestions on models?
Extra info: 1080p isn't necessary (ie not gonna pay extra for it in this size TV.) Viewing distance is going to be about 10 feet. It's replacing an old cabinet TV so it will already be a huge upgrade, which means I'm not really looking to go bigger than 42 (plus size is an issue, as it needs to fit into a specific corner.) Also, this won't be wall mounted, so rear projection might work (but I can't find any rear projection less than ~60" anyways.) Primary (only?) source will be cable. And probably analog at that. The purchase will need to be made brick and mortar -- this new-fangled internet thing scares her. *sigh*
So, with all that said, any ideas?
